        Super Computer

The supercomputer is the fastest and the most powerful computer. It is the biggest in size and the most expensive than any other computer. It is designed to process a huge amount of data. The fastest supercomputer can perform more than 1 trillion calculations per second. A modern supercomputer consists of thousands of microprocessors. It also consumes so much energy. The cost of one supercomputer can be up to several million dollars. Supercomputers are used only by large corporations, universities, and government departments due to their high costs. The supercomputer is used to solve very complex problems. It is used in weather forecasting, weapon designs, atomic research, etc.

        Mainframe Computer

A mainframe computer is a large computer designed to serve several thousand users at the same time. It is more powerful and expensive than a minicomputer. It consists of multiple processors. It can store a huge amount of data. The price of a mainframe computer is several thousand dollars and can be up to several million dollars. The users access a mainframe computer through the terminal. A device with a monitor and keyboard connected to a mainframe computer is called a terminal. A mainframe computer can support thousands of terminals. Mainframe computers are basically used in a networked environment. A mainframe computer is used in large organizations such as insurance companies and banks where many people access the same data frequently. Airlines use these computers for flight schedules, reservations, and ticketing. It is also used to fulfill different customer service needs.

    Mini Computer

A minicomputer is smaller in size and less powerful than a mainframe computer. It is a larger and more powerful computer than a personal computer, Minicomputer can serve up to several hundred connected computers at the same time. It can be used in a networked environment as a server computer. It is less expensive than mainframe computers. It is mostly used by organizations that cannot afford mainframe computers. HP 3000 is an example of the minicomputer

    MicroComputer

The microcomputer is also called a personal computer. It is designed to be used one person at a time. It is less powerful as compared to a minicomputer and mainframe computer. IBM introduced its first microcomputer in 1981 called IBM-PC. Many other companies copied its architecture. Many IBM-compatible computers were introduced in a few years. The microcomputer became very popular because of its low price. The personal computer is becoming more powerful due to improved technology The difference between the more powerful microcomputer and the less powerful, a minicomputer is decreasing. Individual users are using PCs for different purposes. These computers are also used in business, education, and other fields of life.
